Cardinals Go Peanut Free
There was a lot of fanfare promoting the peanut free section at the Cards game so it's only fitting that I post what I know about the actual event! Unfortunately, my family was not able to make it. And maybe it was a blessing in disguise because my allergy kid is super heat sensitive and Monday's game was a scorcher. No... seriously, the last afternoon game he went to, we had to leave after the FIRST inning because he started to get a heat rash. But despite the heat, Laura of Gateway FEAST reported that the Peanut Free Section at the Cardinals game was a big hit! Gateway FEAST was recognized at the stadium on the jumbo screen with an interview with one of the families. She says, "The ushers were awesome and the section was spotless. The Cardinals did an AWESOME job! Everyone got an armband to wear so that the ushers knew who was supposed to be in the section and who wasn't. They even stopped everyone sitting in the section next to us and let them know that our section was peanut free because of allergies and to please be courteous. I saw one vendor with Cracker Jacks try to come down the stairs next to us and one of the ushers just about took him out...literally! We couldn't have asked for better accommodations from the Cardinals."
Here's the official story in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch!
